Do I have to be in the Workforce Training Fund Program to take a course?
No, Magic Lamp Consulting does not require you to be in the Workforce Training Fund Program to take any of our courses. However, if you are eligible, we highly recommend applying as you could qualify to be reimbursed for the training!

Massachusetts Workforce Training Program
Do I need to complete a separate application for each course when applying to the Workforce Training Fund Program? Is there a separate application per course?
There is only one application, and it can be used to apply to multiple courses. Each application is limited to a maximum of 10 courses, and application submissions are limited to 1 per day.
How can I ensure that my application for the Workforce Training Fund Program grant does not get rejected?
Make sure to gather all the required information and materials that you will need, that none of your documents are expired, and carefully type and review information on the form and on your documents. An incorrect Course ID will result in automatic rejection.
Is the time spent taking courses included in a payroll employee’s work hours?
Yes, payroll employees should be paid at regular rates during time spent in training; however, there is a limit that each employee can earn/use per course if using funds from the Workforce Training Fund Program. The limit is $3,000 per course.
Is my independent contractor qualified to attend the Workforce Training Fund Program through my nonprofit?
No, only payroll employees of a nonprofit organization (those who receive a W-2) are eligible to apply and take courses through the Workforce Training Fund Program. The Workforce Training Fund Program does not include independent contractors in the Massachusetts employee count for the nonprofit. However, independent contractors may qualify for course reimbursement through their own business if it pays into the Massachusetts unemployment system.
